Young people in care consultation day in East Anglia

Consultation & Activity Day April 2019

Young People in Care Conference

Our team in East Anglia arranged a consultation morning with the children and young people last week; followed by an action-packed afternoon at a local activity centre.
In the morning we held two meetings; one for children who are ‘looked after’ and one for children whose families foster. We had an opportunity to ask for feedback over the last year with our annual consultation questionnaire; as well as the opportunity to speak directly to the children about ideas for the region moving forward.
During the two meetings the children completed a number of different activities including decorating their own money boxes, rock art and painting window decorations. We have included a couple of photos below; showing some of the great projects created on the day.

After the meetings had finished, we all had lunch before heading to our activity. The afternoon was spent at an activity centre; where after our safety briefing there was a 45-minute climbing wall session. Each climbing wall is individually themed as you can see from some of the photos in our collage. Everyone taking part was amazing; trying all the different climbing walls, ‘well done’ everyone!
After the climbing wall experience there was a much-needed refreshment break before heading to the trampolining park where there is wall to wall trampolines with different activities dotted around. Amazing bouncing everyone; we all had a fantastic day out.
